Traffic Alert- New Michigan St. Traffic Signals

April 5, 2013 — As a result of the new hospital construction, two new separate traffic signals have been added to 1300 W. Michigan (south of the new hospital on Michigan St. starting at Limestone St.) The new signals will be activated and become operational on or after Monday April 8,2013.

March 7, 2013 — On or about March 11,2013 Riley Hospital Dr. will be restricted to south bound traffic only south of the Riley Outpatient Parking Garage. There will be no north bound traffic from Michigan St. on Riley Hospital Dr. Tentative completion of construction is expected in October 2013.

Traffic Alert/ Saturday July 28

July 26, 2012 — Traffic Alert

The Color Run 5K Run /Walk will start at 8am this Saturday morning July 28. There will be 8000- 9000 runners/walkers participating. The anticipated ending time is 12 noon. Some closures will start at 7:15 AM for set up.

The color run consists of spray stations positioned along the route to spray runners/walkers with different colors.

The course is as follows:
• North on Blackford St from the NCAA to New York St
• West on New York St. from Blackford to Limestone.
• North on Limestone to Porto Alegre.
• North on Porto Alegre to 10th St.
• West on 10th St in the eastbound lanes to White River Parkway
• South on White River Parkway in the northbound lanes to New York St
• East on New York St to Limestone where they will turn south onto the trail that follows White River.
• The event will finish at the NCAA.


Recommended detour is to access IUPUI from the University Blvd from the north or Michigan St. from the east

Access to the Natatorium, Herron School of Art and the National Institute for Fitness & Sport is:
• South on Blackford
• South on University Blvd
IMPD will have officers assigned at Blackford/New York and University/New York and will allow vehicles across New York as runners permit

Traffic Alert for Friday evening, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th 2012

April 26, 2012 — The “500 Festival Mini-Marathon” will be held on Saturday, May 5th. Set-up for the race will affect traffic on New York Street Friday evening and the Saturday event will greatly affect both traffic and parking on-campus.

January 17, 2012 — On Thursday, Jan. 19, Downtown street closures related to Super Bowl XLVI will begin. Capitol Avenue will be closed to traffic between Maryland and South streets Jan. 19 - Feb. 10. In addition, lane restrictions will be in place on Capitol Avenue between Ohio and Maryland streets to funnel traffic to Washington and Maryland streets. Access will be maintained to:
• Plaza Park Garage via Maryland Street and Capitol Avenue
• Crowne Plaza Hotel via South Street and Capitol Avenue
• Pan Am Plaza Garage via South and Illinois streets
The closure of Capitol Avenue also impacts the west block of Georgia Street. Georgia Street will be closed to traffic between Illinois Street and Capitol Avenue Jan. 19 - Feb. 10. Georgia Street will be closed to eastbound traffic between Meridian and Illinois streets beginning Jan. 21 and between Pennsylvania and Meridian streets beginning Jan. 23. Access will be maintained for westbound traffic between Pennsylvania and Illinois streets until Jan. 27.
Lane restrictions are already in place on South Street between Capitol Avenue and Missouri Street. This portion of South Street will be closed to traffic Jan. 22 - Feb 13.
